India's Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the world's largest renewable solar and wind energy park

In the year 2009, then Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has a far-sighted vision, the vision to utilize the land of Kutch for the welfare of the society. Currently, he is the prime minister of India and will be inaugurating the  world’s largest solar and wind energy park in Kutch on December 15, 2020. Without any shadow of a doubt, PM Modi is a visionary leader, as in the year 2009, his vision to make the use of the land of Kutch for industrial and social upliftment is condemnable. The foundation stone of the Hybrid Renewable Energy Park, and of a desalination plant and a fully automated milk processing and packing plant in Kutch will be laid out by PM Modi. Recently, PM Modi participated in the 15th G20 Summit convened by Saudi Arabia in a virtual format, on 21-22 November 2020. In his address, Modi claimed that India will meet its goal of 175 GW of renewable energy capacity target well before the said target of 2022 and that India is now more focused on reaching its next...

'Farmer Friendly' laws being questioned! Why is that? (Series: 3/3)

This article talks about the third law Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, which is also waiting for the President's nod now – takes cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oils, onion, and potatoes out of the list of essential commodities. It thus removes stockholding limits on these items except under “extraordinary circumstances”, such as war and natural calamities. It is important because:  * Amended law will attract corporate and foreign investment in the food supply chain – cold storage, warehouses, etc – by addressing fears of excessive regulatory interference  * Supply chain improvements will bring price stability – prices won’t crash after a bumper crop, nor spiral up if a crop fails. Both farmers and buyers will gain  * Better storage will also reduce food wastage Why is it being opposed?  * Critics say price limits set for “extraordinary circumstances” are so high that they are unlikely to be triggered  * Freedom t...

'Farmer Friendly' laws being questioned! Why is that? (Series: 2/3)

This piece talks about one of the 3 laws which is at the core of the farmers agitation.  However, before you read the article, it's my humble request to not share any content you see on web even react on it before you personally verifies the same. In the era of fake news, the core, in this case, the farmers faces the blunt. CONTRACT FARMING The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 also awaits the President’s nod after passing in both Houses. It provides a framework for contract farming. Here’s how it works: * Farmers can sign sale contracts with processors, aggregators, wholesalers, large retailers and exporters at mutually agreed crop prices * This serves as a minimum price guarantee before sowing. So, buyer bears risk of planting * Farmers able to plan ahead and invest in better implements, seeds and other inputs * Buyer pays market rate if it is higher than the contract rate. Disputes to be resolved within fixed time fram...

'Farmer Friendly' laws being questioned! Why is that? (Series: 1/3)

Before we dig deeper into the specifity of the three farm bills and why farmers are protesting them, let us be very cautious before sharing any content on our electronic platforms. Without any shadow of doubt many anti-BJP parties are trying to hijack the farmers agitation, be it fake images and news being published on the internet such as posting fake protest images by Young congress official Twitter handle, follwed by many congress leaders like Manish Tiwari etc. to raising anti-Modi slogan - in full public view, a man threatened that PM Modi will meet the same fate as that of former PM Indira Gandhi. Clearly, this kind of remark can’t be made by a simple farmer. This is the language of the Khalistan extremists, and now this incident points to their involvement in the farmers’ agitation. However, in a time of social distancing, why farmers are out on the road, protesting against laws that promise to better their lot with freedom to choose their markets and set their own prices?  ...

Can President’s Rule Be Imposed If A State Government Is Unable To Protect The Constitution?

The advocates of the President's rule in Maharashtra in 2020 has been increasing day by day. Initially, due to the state's failure to control the pandemic, then alleged improperly handling of late Sushant Singh Rajput's case by the Mumbai police, followed by Kangana Ranaut office premises being demolished follow-up with various summons now, and the arrest of Republic TV editor in chief Arnab Goswami. Well, the Article 356 of the Constitution of India gives the President of India the power to impose this rule on a state on the advice of the Union Council of Ministers. There are some conditions that the President has to consider before imposing the rule, one such being: If the President is satisfied that a situation has arisen in which the government of the state cannot be carried on in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution. If the governor so reports, and if the president is satisfied that state machinery is not working properly in Maharashtra, Presi...

Battleground Bihar: With largest reverse migration in the country

Migrant workers with their families wait to board buses to their home state of eastern Bihar in Ghaziabad near New Delhi, May 18, 2020. Photo: Reuters/Adnan Abidi The announcement of the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic is a significant step towards the restoration of the electoral process. The state with the largest reverse migration in the country is all set for polls.  Now the question in mind is, will the migrant workers go to support the move of nationwide lockdown by the NDA government? or will punish the government for the sufferings they had to go through during the pandemic? As per the study, ‘Effects of COVID-19 on migrant households’, conducted through a survey of returning migrants by UNICEF and Development Management Institute (DMI), about half of the households, 51% have lost complete income and 30% faced a major reduction of income due to lockdown. Followed by 12% migrants who have been affected in a minor way and 7% with no impact...

#TataSackMansoorAli: Why fundamentalist demands it?

In my last post, I talked about why  Tanishq pulled down the  Ekatvam  ad, and how it was a plain business decision. T he poison has spread so much that Tanishq not only had to remove the ad but also had to apologize to the people.  However, now, the ongoing controversy against Tanishq's  ad has taken a dirty stance.   I'm shocked to see a trend on social media where people demand Tanishq to sack its Brand manager for depicting interfaith harmony. Now many fundamentalists are  demanding Tanishq's brand manager Mansoor Ali be removed from the company on social media, but he is also receiving threatening and hate messages.   All this increased so much that Mansoor had to delete his social media accounts.  #TataSackMansoorAli is trending on Twitter, and people are demanding that they will boycott Tanishq and other Tata products until the company removes him from the job. The question is why? Why people are being fed with so much hate in Ind...

Tanishq pulled down ad: Sounds business decision, no need to search for missing spine!

On Monday an advertisement showing interfaith harmony is aired, Tuesday it is backlashed brutally by netizens across social media platforms, and on Wednesday the company pulls down the advertisement from across its platforms. To release an ad like that, in today's 'intolerant' political environment, was a gamble, to begin with. There's no way the marketing executives at Tanishq expected the advertisement to go unnoticed. Why then give in to the bullying and take the video down? The simple answer is plain business. A company dealing in the jewelry industry can't afford to hurt the sentiments of a particular community which tends to be a good base of its customers, especially around the Diwali season.  The main aim of the advertisement like many others is to increase brand value and better sales figures. If the video appears to miss the target, rather backfire, then it is a sound business call to pull down the advertisement.  Now, some groups accusing the brand and Ra...

Working Remotely? Do you check your email tone?

On October 10 when everyone is talking about mental health, most of us tend to talk about our personal life. However, what about professional life?  The way one conducts herself/himself in the workplace can have a huge impact on others, and generally, it has a snowball effect!  With work from home (WFH) being a common scenario these days, the exchange of communication digitally has skyrocketed, be it WhatsApp, Telegram, and most importantly email. Think before you press 'Send'!  As per recently published research in the Journal of occupational health, rude work emails can have a negative impact on sleep quality, employee productivity, and mental wellness. Before you hit send, ask yourself, would I feel comfortable communicating this way if I were in person? How would I feel if this email is sent to me? And then rephrase, if needed. Working professionals, make your email tone as neutral as possible, without eroding the intent of your communication.

Big Boss: Nothing but a pointless show with a stupid host

In the midst of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and the nepotism debate, people have decided to boycott Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 14. Salman has been bearing the brunt of these trolls ever since he has shared the first teaser. In nutshell the show is nothing but a bunch of loosers who were kinda popular for a very short amount of time for one or the other reason! Dhinkchak Pooja.. seriously?  Salman - Host? Nope! Favouritism Moreover, the host of the show, Mr. Salman Khan is a very judgmental person, and he expects and wants everyone to respect him, and if one doesn't, we can see list of people who went on record to say how Salman destroyed their careers!!! Well, Salman thinks that he has the right to pass judgment over those people, and is surely biased when it comes to making his judgemental remarks. Big Boss - Negative | Negative | Negative It might have been entertaining for many people but have you ever thought that what value does it add to your life? What are...

SSR Case: Murder Angle Ruled Out, No IPC Section 302

CBI has been investigating the case since 57 days and nothing has come up so far w.r.t the murder angle, also forensic agencies have ruled out that Sushant Singh Rajput's death was a murder and  circumstantial evidences also point it to be a case of suicide, with no foul play either, hence IPC Section 302 won't be applied. Next steps?  CBI will be continuing its probe from the angle of a suicide. The abetment to suicide angle will also be investigated.

Hathras Case: FSL reports no signs of rape, & Rahul Gandhi Lathi-charged

No signs of Rape: According to ANI, ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar has said, “No semen has been found in the forensic report. The FSL report has already clarified that there was no rape on the victim.” “It clearly shows how a conspiracy was hatched to create caste tension on completely wrong information. Action will be taken those who tried to spread misinformation to create caste tension,” said the officer. Rape victims’ testimony sufficient: SC However, in July 2008, a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and P Sathasivam went to the extent of saying that a victim’s testimony “does not require corroboration from any other evidence including the evidence of a doctor.” However, it said that the victim’s statement should be “convincing”. Well, in Hathras case, sadly the victim is no more, however she has given the statement, so it would be worth a watch to know what will be the next steps by the judiciary system. Gandhi Lathi-charged Also, as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra were on the wa...

Hathras Case: 10 pointers to know before you react

Just before you read, you should know that Name and identity of victims of rape and sexual assault, including those who have died, cannot be disclosed "even in a remote manner", the Supreme Court of India has ruled out in December 2018. However, News agencies & political parties are flaunting it publically. 1. FAMILY’S COMPLAINT ON SEPTEMBER 14: As per the family of the rape victim, her brother made the first complaint, which is mentioned in the first FIR. In the complaint, the brother has said accused Sandeep was trying to strangulate his sister in the field. After hearing her cry, when their mother reached the spot, the accused fled. The brother has named just one accused (Sandeep) in his first complaint. In the complaint, he has mentioned the time of the incident at 9.30 am. After that, an FIR was registered under the SC/ST Act and Section 307 of IPC. Explained | Here’s how our power system will be managed during lights-out

The lights-off event planned for Sunday can lead to disruptions in power supply when everyone switches off their lights from 9pm and switch on after nine minutes. Electricity authorities have studied power consumption patterns across India and the share of lighting in it to come up with a plan to handle the expected dip and surge in consumption that day. When everyone switches off their lights, the power plants will be impacted. The situation can be compared to a bicycle climbing upward. When the lights go off all at once, it is akin to the cyclist suddenly reaching the peak and continuing to pedal as before during the climb down. The bicycle speed will then ramp up and could lead to the cyclist losing his balance. The voltage in the grid and the frequency will surge. The frequency can be understood as the electrical equivalent of the bicycle’s speed. The bicyclist losing his balance is like our power plants stopping operation as a result of these sudden changes. If the bicyclist an...

Timeline: How Nizamuddin event went on despite lockdown orders

More than 2,000 people who were at the markaz in Delhi’ Nizamuddin area have been identified. The building has emerged as one of the biggest Covid-19 hot spots in the country. Officials across the country began a frantic search for thousands of people who had been to the headquarters of a religious group in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area that has now emerged as the single-biggest source of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections in the country, leading to at least eight deaths and 117 confirmed cases.
