Finally,she took her last breath ..

 The night of November-17-1973,came as the darkest of the darkest night for the Late.Aruna Ramchandra Shanbaug,that night bought 42 years of life worse than death for her.Late.Aruna in those days were planning to get married,but a guy named as,Sohanlal Bhartha Walmiki,sweeper in the hospital,had something different plans for her.Late.Aruna used to work as nurse in KEM hospital,Mumbai.on 27th-Nov-1973 ,night when Late.Aruna was changing the clothes in the hospital basement,sohanlal attacked her,choked her with the dog chain and sodomized her.He left her probably thinking she might have died,but she was alive cum dead.The police case was registered as a case of robbery and attempted murder on account of the concealment of anal rape by the doctors under the instructions of the Dean of KEM, Dr. Deshpande, perhaps to avoid the social rejection of the victim,and her impending marriage.Sohanlal was caught and convicted, and served two concurrent seven-year sentences for assault and robbery, neither for rape or sexual molestation, nor for the "unnatural sexual offence" (which could have got him a ten-year sentence by itself).Today on 18-may-2015,finally she took her last breath,she was the in the vegetative state for the last long 42 years...42 years.From then she has been taken care by the hospital staff,(i salute to the humanity shown by the KEM nurses),but can you just believe how much pain,suffering she has to go through all these years..more than 4 decades... i'm ashamed that again our country-our law failed to provide justice to the women ,that man after 7 years having `muft-ka-khana`in the jail is roaming in the country as a free man.I still can't believe he was given just 7 years of imprisonment...and that to whom ,who had given Late.Aruna 42 years of life in vegetative state. my heart comes out for her !! At the last she has gone free from this world,from the pain,unbearable-intolerable-unspoken pain !!
