Battleground Bihar: With largest reverse migration in the country

Migrant workers with their families wait to board buses to their home state of eastern Bihar in Ghaziabad near New Delhi, May 18, 2020. Photo: Reuters/Adnan Abidi The announcement of the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic is a significant step towards the restoration of the electoral process. The state with the largest reverse migration in the country is all set for polls.  Now the question in mind is, will the migrant workers go to support the move of nationwide lockdown by the NDA government? or will punish the government for the sufferings they had to go through during the pandemic? As per the study, ‘Effects of COVID-19 on migrant households’, conducted through a survey of returning migrants by UNICEF and Development Management Institute (DMI), about half of the households, 51% have lost complete income and 30% faced a major reduction of income due to lockdown. Followed by 12% migrants who have been affected in a minor way and 7% with no impact...

#TataSackMansoorAli: Why fundamentalist demands it?

In my last post, I talked about why  Tanishq pulled down the  Ekatvam  ad, and how it was a plain business decision. T he poison has spread so much that Tanishq not only had to remove the ad but also had to apologize to the people.  However, now, the ongoing controversy against Tanishq's  ad has taken a dirty stance.   I'm shocked to see a trend on social media where people demand Tanishq to sack its Brand manager for depicting interfaith harmony. Now many fundamentalists are  demanding Tanishq's brand manager Mansoor Ali be removed from the company on social media, but he is also receiving threatening and hate messages.   All this increased so much that Mansoor had to delete his social media accounts.  #TataSackMansoorAli is trending on Twitter, and people are demanding that they will boycott Tanishq and other Tata products until the company removes him from the job. The question is why? Why people are being fed with so much hate in Ind...

Tanishq pulled down ad: Sounds business decision, no need to search for missing spine!

On Monday an advertisement showing interfaith harmony is aired, Tuesday it is backlashed brutally by netizens across social media platforms, and on Wednesday the company pulls down the advertisement from across its platforms. To release an ad like that, in today's 'intolerant' political environment, was a gamble, to begin with. There's no way the marketing executives at Tanishq expected the advertisement to go unnoticed. Why then give in to the bullying and take the video down? The simple answer is plain business. A company dealing in the jewelry industry can't afford to hurt the sentiments of a particular community which tends to be a good base of its customers, especially around the Diwali season.  The main aim of the advertisement like many others is to increase brand value and better sales figures. If the video appears to miss the target, rather backfire, then it is a sound business call to pull down the advertisement.  Now, some groups accusing the brand and Ra...

Working Remotely? Do you check your email tone?

On October 10 when everyone is talking about mental health, most of us tend to talk about our personal life. However, what about professional life?  The way one conducts herself/himself in the workplace can have a huge impact on others, and generally, it has a snowball effect!  With work from home (WFH) being a common scenario these days, the exchange of communication digitally has skyrocketed, be it WhatsApp, Telegram, and most importantly email. Think before you press 'Send'!  As per recently published research in the Journal of occupational health, rude work emails can have a negative impact on sleep quality, employee productivity, and mental wellness. Before you hit send, ask yourself, would I feel comfortable communicating this way if I were in person? How would I feel if this email is sent to me? And then rephrase, if needed. Working professionals, make your email tone as neutral as possible, without eroding the intent of your communication.

Big Boss: Nothing but a pointless show with a stupid host

In the midst of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and the nepotism debate, people have decided to boycott Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 14. Salman has been bearing the brunt of these trolls ever since he has shared the first teaser. In nutshell the show is nothing but a bunch of loosers who were kinda popular for a very short amount of time for one or the other reason! Dhinkchak Pooja.. seriously?  Salman - Host? Nope! Favouritism Moreover, the host of the show, Mr. Salman Khan is a very judgmental person, and he expects and wants everyone to respect him, and if one doesn't, we can see list of people who went on record to say how Salman destroyed their careers!!! Well, Salman thinks that he has the right to pass judgment over those people, and is surely biased when it comes to making his judgemental remarks. Big Boss - Negative | Negative | Negative It might have been entertaining for many people but have you ever thought that what value does it add to your life? What are...

SSR Case: Murder Angle Ruled Out, No IPC Section 302

CBI has been investigating the case since 57 days and nothing has come up so far w.r.t the murder angle, also forensic agencies have ruled out that Sushant Singh Rajput's death was a murder and  circumstantial evidences also point it to be a case of suicide, with no foul play either, hence IPC Section 302 won't be applied. Next steps?  CBI will be continuing its probe from the angle of a suicide. The abetment to suicide angle will also be investigated.

Hathras Case: FSL reports no signs of rape, & Rahul Gandhi Lathi-charged

No signs of Rape: According to ANI, ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar has said, “No semen has been found in the forensic report. The FSL report has already clarified that there was no rape on the victim.” “It clearly shows how a conspiracy was hatched to create caste tension on completely wrong information. Action will be taken those who tried to spread misinformation to create caste tension,” said the officer. Rape victims’ testimony sufficient: SC However, in July 2008, a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and P Sathasivam went to the extent of saying that a victim’s testimony “does not require corroboration from any other evidence including the evidence of a doctor.” However, it said that the victim’s statement should be “convincing”. Well, in Hathras case, sadly the victim is no more, however she has given the statement, so it would be worth a watch to know what will be the next steps by the judiciary system. Gandhi Lathi-charged Also, as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra were on the wa...
